The 1911 is John Browning's platform for Colt, adopted by the U.S. military in 1911 and reworked by nearly every serious custom house since. No single pistol pattern has been more copied, more documented, or more collected. This collection gathers 36 pieces that trace that entire arc, from unaltered factory Colt Government models to museum-grade engraving. Several carry real provenance worth noting on their own: a Colt Government master-engraved by Angelo Bee, a Government Model attributed to Texas Ranger Captain M.T. Gonzaullas, a one-of-one prototype Steyr-Hahn 1912 Model 1911, and a Colt 1911 TALO Dragon Edition limited to 400 pieces. Custom-shop work from Ed Brown, Nighthawk Custom, Les Baer, Guncrafter Industries, Dan Wesson, and 10-8 Performance fills out the rest. What ties the collection together isn't one maker but one idea, carried forward for well over a century.
