A matched pair of Cylinder & Slide Adventurer custom 1911 pistols in .45 ACP, built on Caspian Arms frames. One blued and one stainless, housed together in a fitted red presentation case.
Open the red case and the pairing does the talking. Two Cylinder & Slide Adventurer pistols sit side by side, one in deep blue, one in matte stainless, built on Caspian Arms frames out of Hardwick, Vermont. They are the same gun in mirror finishes, and that is the whole point of the set.
Both are compact Officer-size 1911s chambered in .45 ACP. You get the shortened slide and barrel, the bobbed grip frame, and the full set of custom touches Cylinder & Slide is known for. Beavertail grip safeties, extended thumb safeties, skeletonized triggers, and crisply cut slide serrations carry across both guns. The slides wear the Adventurer name, rendered in block letters on the blued pistol and in flowing script on the stainless one. That small change in lettering style is the kind of detail that tells you these were finished as a coordinated pair rather than two off the same bench.
The sights are a fiber optic setup, red up front and green at the rear, which reads fast against either finish. The grips are cocobolo-toned hardwood with a reddish cast and a double-diamond checkering pattern, and the contrasting tones of light and dark wood give each panel some movement. Look at the muzzle end and you will see the bull barrel layout common to the Officer build, with a full-length guide rod riding underneath.
The blued gun shows a rich, almost glassy finish with some color drawing toward the slide top. The stainless gun carries a brushed flat on the slide flats against a bead-blasted frame. Both wear Caspian's Hardwick address on the frame.
The set ships in a red suitcase-style presentation case lined in tan, cut to seat each pistol and leave room for accessories. For a collector who likes 1911s built by a name shop and likes them in pairs, this is a clean way to own both ends of the finish spectrum at once.
