There are engraved Colts, and then there are engraved Colts signed by John Adams. This 1992 third generation Single Action Army wears the unmistakable hand of a master, and the signature confirms it. Adams cut his name twice into the back strap beneath the grip and once more along the underside of the barrel, with the date 6.7.95 inscribed between. That's the quiet confidence of an engraver who knew the work would speak for itself.

The scrollwork is where it earns its keep. A delicate band rings the muzzle and frame, opening into flowing floral scroll that runs the length of the barrel and across nearly the entire frame. About 85 percent of the frame is covered. Even the front sight has been touched by the graver, which tells you Adams didn't deal in half measures. The pattern transitions into starburst flourishes at the cylinder pin release and the ejector rod housing, then fans out in radiant arcs along the recoil shield and loading gate.
