This is a Colt Sheriff's Model Single Action Army built in 2009, dressed from muzzle to backstrap in the kind of work that takes a lifetime to learn.

Roughly eighty-five percent of the surface carries floral scroll engraving, each cut riding over a punch-dot background that gives the whole composition depth and texture. The lines move with purpose, flowing from the barrel through the frame and across the loading gate. Against the deep blued finish, every cut reads sharp and clean.

Then there's the gold. A 22-karat band wraps the muzzle, another sits at the breech end of the barrel, and twin rings circle the rear of the cylinder. The hammer wears a bold gold stripe down its spine. Barbed wire borders run along the top strap and backstrap, tying the rugged Western theme together. And the cattle brands are the heart of it. Sixteen of them inlaid in gold across the frame and cylinder, names like Broken Arrow, Horse Track, Walking 7, and the Dollar Sign, each a small piece of range history pressed into steel.

The grips are carved ebony, shaped by Dan Chesiak, dark and smooth against the engraved metal. The barrel carries the Colt Sheriff's Model address on one side and the COLT S.A.A. 45 CAL marking on the other, both framed by scroll.
