Look at the butt of this Single Action Army and you'll find two markings that tell you exactly what it is. One reads No. 29. The other reads One of 250. This is a limited run, factory-engraved Colt finished in deep blue with gold inlay throughout, and only 250 of these ever left Hartford. Number 29 puts it near the front of that run.

The engraving is full coverage. Flowing scrollwork wraps the frame, barrel, cylinder, trigger guard, and backstrap, cut with the kind of consistency that comes off an experienced bench. Against the high-polish blue, the scroll picks up light and shadow in equal measure. But the gold is what stops you. A gold rearing colt sits on the recoil shield. Another runs along the cylinder. The COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY .45 barrel address is gold filled, the patent dates on the frame carry gold, and gold borders trace the edges of the frame and loading gate.
