A SIG Sauer Mastershop P226 X-Six Supermatch in 9mm with a fully skeletonized stainless slide. Wears laminated G10 skull grips, a 6 inch barrel, and an adjustable SAO target trigger.
Look at the slide on this X-Six and you start to understand why SIG's Mastershop built its reputation in Eckernförde. The whole top end has been opened up with rows of lightening cuts, scalloped windows, and aggressive fluting that runs nearly the full length. It's skeleton work in the truest sense, metal cut away wherever the engineers could pull weight without giving up rigidity, and the front of the slide carries a flared, vented muzzle treatment that looks like nothing else in the P226 family.
The base is the X-Six Supermatch, SIG's long-slide target pistol chambered in 9mm. You get the 6 inch barrel and the long sight radius that come with it, an adjustable target rear sight paired with a fiber optic front, and a single action only trigger you can tune for both pull weight and reach. The frame is stainless, finished in a matte bead-blasted silver that carries across the slide as well. Every flat and bevel catches light a little differently.
The grips are what stop most people. They're laminated G10 cut with a skull and crossbones motif, layered in black and grey that shows different patterns depending on the angle. A skeletonized hammer, knurled controls, and a beavertail safety round out the build. The front strap and mainspring housing wear fine checkering for a secure hold.
Worth noting: the slide still wears its German proof marks and the SIG Sauer Eckernförde roll mark, and the pistol carries its factory hang tag from the Sauerstraße works.
This is a Mastershop piece, not a production-line gun. SIG's custom shop builds these in small numbers, and the skeletonized Supermatch is about as far as they take the P226 platform. For a collector who wants a German custom shop pistol that performs as hard as it looks, this one earns the space in the safe.
