Look at the front of this slide and you'll see what the Skeleton name is about. SIG's Mastershop cut the forward section into a long row of open ports and lightening windows, dropping reciprocating mass right out at the muzzle where it does the most for muzzle flip. The recoil spring assembly sits exposed underneath. It's a competition idea executed at the highest level SIG offers, and it's the kind of work that comes out of the German custom shop rather than the standard catalog.
The two-tone treatment runs straight down the gun. A black slide rides over a bright stainless frame, with the controls finished in black to match the top end. That contrast carries through the takedown lever, the slide stop, and the trigger, while the long six inch barrel and full-length frame give it the sight radius serious bullseye and sport shooters chase.
The grips are figured wood with a heavy laminate look, fitted with checkered side panels for purchase and a flared adjustable target base that fills the hand. Up top sits a fully adjustable target rear with a notched blade, paired to a post front. The single action trigger breaks the way Mastershop guns are tuned to break. There's an accessory rail molded into the dust cover for anyone who wants to hang weight or optics down low.
This one carries the SIG Sauer Eckernforde markings and the X-Six rollmark on the slide flat. Chambered in 9mm, it feeds from the standard X-Six magazine and runs the classic P226 mechanism underneath all the competition dress.
The package is complete. It comes with the original factory box, the manual, and the factory test target that Mastershop fires and signs off on before the gun ships. For a shooter who wants a German match pistol that doesn't look like everything else on the line, the Skeleton earns the Unicorn label. You don't see many of these come up, and fewer still in this two-tone configuration.
