A German-built SIG Sauer P226 X-Short Supermatch in 9mm, finished in matte stainless from SIG's Mastershop. Wears aggressive layered G10 grips, adjustable target sights, and a flat competition trigger.
Most P226 X-Series guns wear the long X-Five or X-Six slide. This one runs the shorter X-Short slide and barrel, and that single decision changes how the whole pistol behaves in the hand. It carries the same Mastershop pedigree as its larger siblings, but in a format that points faster and balances closer to the frame. Built in Germany, it wears the factory test target signed by A. Koch, dated and confirming the 25 meter five-shot group that left the Eckernförde shop.
The finish is a matte stainless that runs across slide and frame alike, broken up by deep cocking serrations front and rear and the X-Short script milled into the flat of the slide. SIG SAUER is rolled into the muzzle end, and the left frame carries the P226, German proof marks, and the Made in Germany stamp. Up top sits an adjustable target rear paired with a square post front, the setup serious shooters expect on a gun built to print tight groups.
The grips are the standard the X-Short is known for. Aggressive G10 panels in a black and grey layered pattern, cut with the X-Series logo and a stippled texture that locks the hand in place. A beavertail grip safety, ambidextrous thumb safety, and flat competition trigger round out the controls. The single action breaks clean, and the full dust cover with accessory rail gives the front end its weight.
Underneath, the frame wears a full-length Picatinny rail and a wide, flared magazine well. The trigger guard is squared and serrated at the front. This is a shooter's pistol first, finished to a level that puts it on the display shelf just as easily. For the collector who wants the X-Series precision without the full-length slide, the X-Short fills a slot few SIG variants do.
