A German-made SIG Sauer P226 X-Short in the SO Black configuration, chambered in 9mm. Single-action competition build with a shortened slide and barrel on the full-size P226 frame.
Most of the X-Series catalog chases barrel length. The X-Short goes the other way. SIG built this one around a cut-down slide and barrel on the full-size P226 frame, and the result handles differently than anything else in the lineup. You get the same single-action competition trigger and the same German manufacturing, just packed into a tighter, faster-pointing package. That balance shift toward the rear is the whole point.
This is the SO Black configuration, finished in a deep matte black that runs across the slide, frame, and controls without a single bright accent to break it up. The slide wears the familiar SIG flat-top cut with front and rear cocking serrations, and the X-Short logo sits clean on the flat. Look closely at the muzzle and you'll see the shortened barrel sitting just shy of the full-length dust cover rail, which carries the integral accessory grooves the X-Series is known for.
The grips are aggressive stippled polymer panels with the SIG Sauer logo molded in, paired with an extended magazine baseplate that gives the shooting hand a full purchase. Up top sit adjustable competition sights with a serrated rear blade. The skeletonized hammer, beavertail, and bladed trigger all carry the same black finish. The slide is roll-marked Made in Germany, confirming this came out of the Eckernförde shop rather than the U.S. line.
The pistol shows light handling wear on the muzzle crown and high edges, with the bore bright and the rifling sharp. It comes cased with a second magazine, the X-Series manual, factory test target signed by the proof shooter, and cleaning tools. For a shooter who wants the X-Series trigger in a shorter, quicker frame, this configuration rarely turns up in the SO Black dress.
