SIG Sauer P226 X-Short Black & White in 9mm, built by the SIG Mastershop. Two-tone all-steel competition pistol with single-action trigger and factory test target.
Two-tone P226s come through now and then, but the X-Short Black & White is a different animal. This is a SIG Sauer Mastershop pistol, built in Eckernförde by the same shop responsible for the X-Five and X-Six guns, and the contrast finish is the whole point. The slide wears a brushed stainless face with the flats left bright and the slide serrations cut deep into darker steel, so the X-SHORT rollmark and the SIGSAUER logo stand out against the polished surrounding metal. Up close, the play between light and dark reads as deliberate, not decorative.
The X-Short trims the slide and barrel down from the full-size X-Five, which is what gives this gun its quicker handling. You still get the all-steel frame, the single-action trigger that the Mastershop is known for, and a grip built for serious shooting. The frame carries an integral accessory rail up front, an adjustable target rear sight paired with a fiber-style front blade, and a beavertail that lets you ride the grip high. The polished hammer, takedown lever, and ambidextrous safety pick up the bright accents from the slide.
The grips are smooth dark wood with a checkered panel set into each side, fitted to the wider X-frame and finished with metal escutcheons. They sit naturally against the black frame and give the gun a planted feel in the hand.
Worth noting: this one comes complete with its original factory box, manual, and the factory test target. That test target matters. It's the document SIG fires with each Mastershop pistol before it leaves Germany, and having it here ties the gun to its origin in a way few used examples can match. For a shooter who wants a competition-grade SIG with the looks to back it up, or a collector building out a Mastershop shelf, this is the kind of piece you don't see sitting on a shelf for long.
