A one-of-one SIG Sauer P226 X-Five "Zeus" built by the Mastershop Prestige in 9x21. Hand-engraved with Greek key borders, gold inlay, and gold-plated controls, documented as the only example imported into Italy.
Bignami's letter says it plainly: this is the only P226 X-Five "Zeus" built in 9x21 and imported into Italy. One gun. Made by SIG Sauer's Mastershop Prestige in Eckernförde, it takes the competition X-Five platform and turns the entire surface over to a Greek mythological program executed entirely by hand.
Start with the engraving, because that's the whole point. Deep relief scrollwork wraps the slide and frame, bordered top to bottom by classical Greek key meanders. Gold inlay traces the borders, picks out the foliate scrolls, and renders Zeus's lightning bolts clutched in a fist along the dust cover. Flip to the muzzle end and you'll find a bearded Zeus head framed in gold-bordered scroll. The breech face panel carries a draped figure scene, and the takedown lever wears a temple motif. The name ZEUS sits engraved in gold-bordered panels on both the underside of the dust cover and the front strap.
The gold doesn't stop at the inlay. The hammer, trigger, extended slide stop, decocker, takedown lever, and grip screws all wear bright gold plating, set hard against the satin engraved steel. The grips are richly figured walnut, fitted with antique Greek coin medallions, an Alexander the Great drachma on the left and a laureate head on the right.
Under the art, the mechanics are pure X-Five. Single-action target trigger, extended sight radius, match barrel, and the balance that made this the European bullseye benchmark. The slide is roll-marked 9mm x 21, the chambering that competition shooters in Italy require.
The package is complete. It comes in its fitted wood presentation case with the SIG Sauer factory test target shot by A. Koch and the Bignami documentation confirming its one-of-one status. For a collector, the appeal is simple. There isn't another like it.
