A SIG Sauer Mastershop P226 X-Five in 9mm wearing a one-off titanium blue finish over a mirror-polished stainless frame. Built during the peak of Mastershop production with polished steel grips and a carbon-fiber X inlay.
Most X-Five pistols leave the SIG Mastershop wearing nitron black or polished stainless. This one wears neither. The slide and frame carry a deep titanium blue, the kind of color that shifts from steel grey to electric cobalt depending on how the light hits it. Set against the mirror-polished stainless grip panels with their carbon-fiber X inlay, the effect is hard to look away from. The factory test target ticks the P226 box, 9mm Luger, five shots at 25 meters, with an origin date in 2003, placing this firmly in the golden run of Mastershop production.
Underneath the color, this is a proper X-Five. The single-action trigger breaks the way a hand-fitted SIG should, and the controls, hammer, takedown lever, and slide stop all wear bright nickel that plays against the blue. The frame is the full X-Series chassis with a light rail up front, an extended beavertail, and the heavy stainless magwell that gives the gun its competition balance. The slide is cut with the deep cocking serrations and stepped contours unique to the X-Five line, and it reads SIGSAUER along the right side with the X-FIVE logo on the left. The bull barrel shows a bright bore and a clean crown.
Worth noting: the grips alone set this apart. The polished steel panels with the inlaid carbon X are not a catalog item you will find on a standard gun. Paired with the titanium blue metalwork, they push this piece well past the usual Mastershop fare and into one-off territory.
It comes complete in the X-Series case with both manuals, the factory test target, and the SIG Sauer cleaning tube. For a collector who already owns the standard finishes, this is the X-Five that fills the gap nothing else can.
