A first generation SIG Sauer Mastershop P226 X-Five in 9mm with the faceted Silver Dust slide engraving. Built as a single action only competition pistol with carbon fiber stippled grips, fiber optic sights, and factory test target.
Look at the sides of this slide and you'll see why the Silver Dust earns its name. The flats are cut with a dense field of faceted diamond engraving that catches light at every angle, and right through the middle runs the Silver Dust script in flowing cursive. This is a first generation gun out of the SIG Sauer Mastershop in Eckernförde, the in-house custom shop that builds Germany's most elaborate production SIGs by hand.
Underneath the dress, it's a P226 X-Five competition pistol. That means the longer X-Five slide and barrel, the full dust cover with accessory rail, and a tuned single action only trigger with the adjustable competition setup. The frame wears an ambidextrous thumb safety, a beavertail with the X-Five hammer, and an extended magazine release. You also get the heel-mounted lanyard loop and the squared trigger guard that competition shooters favor.
The grips are the thing that pulls the whole package together. They're a layered carbon fiber pattern panel running into an aggressive black stippled texture across the gripping surface, with the SIG SAUER name molded into the lower panel. That stippling bites hard. It gives a non-slip hold under recoil without chewing up your hand the way checkering can.
Finish work is sharp throughout. The slide carries the faceted Silver Dust engraving against a black frame, with fiber optic sights front and rear and the Made in Germany rollmark clear on the flat. Controls retain deep black against the bright engraved surfaces.
This one comes complete with its original factory box, the documentation, and the factory test target that confirms how it shot before it left Eckernförde. For a SIG collector, a Mastershop X-Five in the Silver Dust treatment is the kind of gun that anchors a German SIG collection. It shoots as well as it looks, and it looks like very little else on a shelf.
