A one-of-one SIG Sauer P226 X-Five Prestige Mastershop pistol in 9mm, themed around the Excalibur legend. Features deep relief armor engraving, a Damascus-patterned sword mounted along the slide, and carved ivory heraldic grips.
Most engraved pistols stop at scrollwork. This one builds an entire Arthurian legend across an all-steel competition gun, and it does not let up for a single surface. The SIG Sauer P226 X-Five Prestige out of the German Mastershop wears a fully sculpted theme its makers named Excalibur, and the work is deep, dimensional, and unlike anything you see come through a custom shop.
Start with the platform. The X-Five is SIG's flagship single-action competition build, an all-steel P226 known for its weight, balance, and trigger. Here the bridge and frame still carry the SIG Sauer markings and German proof stamps you would expect, but the steel itself has been chased into something closer to medieval armor. Riveted panels, layered scale work, and geometric relief run the length of the slide and frame. The right side reads ARCUS. The left reads EXCALIBUR in flowing Gothic script. Ride the eye along the dustcover and you find draped fabric and feather motifs cut in true three dimensions.
Then there is the sword. A Damascus-patterned blade mounts along the top of the slide, its layered steel waving with that unmistakable forged grain. The cross-guard carries faceted gemstone accents in red and dark blue, and the pommel terminates in a sculpted armored gauntlet gripping the hilt. It is a complete miniature sculpture, integrated rather than bolted on.
The grips are carved mammoth ivory with natural grain and color streaking through, each panel set with an engraved steel heraldic shield. The engraver's signature, Salzmann, sits at the base of the right panel. The whole piece arrives in a fitted wooden presentation case lined in black satin.
For the collector who wants a centerpiece rather than another safe queen, this is a singular object. There is no second one.
