A one-of-one SIG Sauer P226 X-Five from the Mastershop Prestige Series, chambered in 9mm. Fully sculpted in high relief as a maritime ghost ship with a ruby-eyed pirate skull hammer.
Most engraved pistols decorate a surface. This one rebuilds it. The Flying Dutchman is a SIG Sauer Mastershop P226 X-Five that left the bench as something closer to sculpture than sidearm, and the moment you turn it in the light the whole maritime legend comes alive across the steel.
Start at the muzzle. A breaching shark erupts from the dust cover, body and fin cast in high relief, jaws open over the bore. Run your eye back and the slide and frame become a ghost ship under full rigging, hull planking, knotted rope, and ratlines cut deep enough to throw real shadow. Skeletal hands grip the rails. A bearded figurehead emerges from the trigger guard area, and tiny skulls hide among the timbers. The hammer is crowned with the spectral captain himself, a tricorn skull set with ruby eyes that catch the light from across a room.
The metalwork carries a weathered grey patina with bright polished accents on the beavertail safety, slide stop, and trigger. The bone grips continue the story. The right panel shows a tall ship cresting heavy seas, the left a skull in a bandana crowned by a ship's wheel, both rendered in fine scrimshaw line work. Underneath all of it sits a genuine X-Five, the single action target build chambered in 9mm with its match barrel and crisp trigger intact. The barrel still wears the proof marks and the 9mm Para caliber stamp.
This was a one-off from the Prestige Series, the program where SIG's Mastershop engravers and sculptors worked without the usual catalog limits. No numbered run, no twin. It ships in its fitted wood presentation case with blue satin lining and a factory magazine. For a collector who wants a Mastershop piece that no one else will ever own, this is the one to chase.
