A German Mastershop SIG Sauer P226 X-Five in 9mm with a full mirror-polished chrome frame. Carbon fiber X-pattern grip inlays set off the long competition slide.
Most P226 X-Five pistols leave the German Mastershop wearing a businesslike satin stainless coat. This one took a different road. The entire frame has been worked to a full mirror polish, the kind of bright chrome-look surface that throws back every line of the slide and turns the pistol into something closer to jewelry than hardware. Set against that shine are carbon fiber grip inlays cut into a bold X motif, the black weave reading hard against the polished metal. It's a deliberate contrast, and it works.
Underneath the dress, this is pure X-Five. The long slide carries the deep cocking serrations front and rear, the X-FIVE script milled into the flat, and the SIG SAUER address rolled clean along the dust cover. You get the extended beavertail, the competition-length single-action trigger, the adjustable target rear sight, and the bull barrel that gives the platform its weight and its balance. Made in Germany is stamped plainly on the slide flat, and the chamber reads 9mm Para.
The finish does more than catch light. Look closely and you can see the hand work in the polish, the way each transition between flat and radius stays crisp rather than rounded over. The slide flats hold their satin brushing while the frame goes bright, so the two surfaces play off each other instead of blending into one wash of silver. Controls are sharp, the checkered magazine release and takedown lever both knurled deep.
This pistol still wears its factory STOP tag and reads as unfired. For a SIG collector who already knows what a standard X-Five looks like in the safe, the appeal here is obvious. It's a competition gun built to a show finish, the kind of piece that earns a spot under glass as readily as it does on a range bag.
