SIG Sauer P226 X-Five Blue Moon Gen 2

SIG's German Mastershop dressed this X-Five in a deep metallic blue and then cut bright stainless flats into the slide, so light catches the polished bands against the cobalt anodizing in a way that shifts as you turn it. The chambering is the part collectors will note second. This is the X-Five Gen 2 in .40 S&W, a caliber SIG offered far less often than 9mm on the competition platform, which makes this one harder to track down than the usual blued examples.

The build is all business under the finish. A 5 inch match barrel sits inside a full-length frame with an integral accessory rail, the slide carries the deep front and rear cocking serrations the X-Five is known for, and the X-Five logo is machined into the flat ahead of the slide stop. Up top you get an adjustable target rear sight paired with a black front blade. The single-action trigger, polished hammer, and extended beavertail all wear bright stainless, and the magazine baseplate matches with a polished steel pad.

The grips are checkered walnut with the SIG monogram cut into each panel, warm against the cool blue alloy. The frame is roll-marked P226, .40 S&W, and Made in Germany, confirming Eckernförde production rather than the US line.

It comes in its SIG hard case with the factory manual, a magazine, the cleaning rod, and a tube of SIG lubricant. The bore is bright with strong rifling, and the finish shows well across the slide and frame. For a collector who likes a competition SIG with real visual presence, a German Mastershop X-Five in the less common .40 chambering is a hard combination to find twice.
