Most P226 pistols wear a matte service finish and disappear into a duty holster. This one does the opposite. The X-Five Black Chrome catches every overhead light and throws it back at you, a deep mirror plating laid over the full-size competition frame that SIG's German Mastershop built for the firing line. You don't mistake it for a working gun. You set it down and people look.

The X-Five layout is all here. A single-action-only trigger drops the bar to a short, crisp break that bears no resemblance to the stock P226 pull, and the 5-inch match barrel stretches the sight radius out to where it does the most good. SIG cut a full-length accessory rail into the dust cover, fitted an adjustable target rear sight, and shaped the beavertail and extended frame for a high, locked-in grip. The black grips carry the molded X motif with checkered panels front and back, and the front strap and mainspring housing wear aggressive checkering that keeps the hand planted under speed.

Look closely at the slide and you'll see the black chrome shows light handling marks across the high flats, the kind of honest contact wear that comes from being picked up and admired rather than carried. The X-Five script and the SIG SAUER rollmark stand clear. Controls retain deep, even plating. The bore is bright with strong rifling.

This is a German-built X-Five, not one of the later American variants, and the Black Chrome treatment was never a high-volume offering. Worth noting: the original German factory warning tag is still tied to the trigger guard.
