SIG Sauer P210 Legend First Produced

Most collectors chase a clean example. This one is the first. The accompanying letter from SIG Sauer in Eckernförde, signed by their Head of Sales, identifies this P210 Legend as the first sold serial pistol of the reissued line. That document is what turns a fine shooter into a cornerstone piece, and it is the kind of provenance that exists exactly once.

A bit of background helps explain why that matters. The original P210 came out of Switzerland and built its name on accuracy that bordered on obsessive. When SIG Sauer brought it back through their German operation, the engineers reworked the details rather than simply copying the old gun. The frame picked up a slightly larger profile to add weight. The surface and controls went to a PVD treatment, the safety was redesigned so the area between F-Fire and S-Safe no longer scratches with use, and the beavertail was extended. The letter spells all of this out.

In the hand it reads as a pure single action target pistol. The slide carries the deep PVD black finish that gives the gun its architectural look, broken only by the bright stainless trigger, slide stop, and magazine release. The fixed front sight pairs with an adjustable rear. The walnut grips are finely checkered with a smooth border, warm against all that black, and the right panel wears a thumb rest cut for the target shooter. Markings are crisp, with P210 on the slide and the Made in Germany roll mark plainly visible.

Chambered in 9mm, it feeds from a single-stack magazine and runs the manual thumb safety the line is known for. The bore is bright and the controls move with the precision the P210 reputation is built on.

For a P210 collector, the gun itself is reason enough. The letter is what makes it the one you build a collection around. Pieces like this do not come back around once they settle into a serious cabinet.
