A SIG Sauer P226 X-Five Open Skeleton in 9mm with single-action-only trigger and two-tone skeletonized slide. Built with a frame-mounted X-Mount carrier and Romeo3 red dot for open-class competition.
Most P226 X-Five pistols stay close to the German Mastershop template. This one takes the Open Skeleton path and runs with it, pairing a skeletonized two-tone slide with a frame-mounted X-Mount carrier and a Romeo3 red dot riding well above the bore. The silhouette alone tells you it was built to chase a target fast and stay flat doing it.
The two-tone treatment is the signature here. Brushed bare metal flats sit against deep black on the slide, and the X-FIVE and SIGSAUER markings are cut clean into the polished surfaces. Up front you get a compensator with twin top ports, which is what keeps the muzzle settled between shots. The slide carries fine top serrations and a set of vertical cocking serrations at the rear, and the bare flat sits proud of the black machine work below it.
The action is single action only, with an adjustable competition trigger and a polished hammer, magazine catch, and safety lever that all catch the light. Worth noting: the grips are aggressive G10, deeply textured with a relief pattern and checkered side panels that lock into the hand under recoil. An extended magwell flares the bottom of the grip frame, and the magazines wear matching aluminum base pads.
The optic setup is the part that defines this build. A Romeo3 reflex sight sits in an X-Mount carrier that bridges the frame and slide, so the dot tracks independent of slide movement. That is the open-class formula, and SIG built it into a factory Mastershop package rather than leaving it to an aftermarket gunsmith.
This one ships in its Swiss Arms padded soft case with a spare extended magazine and the takedown tool. For a competitor who wants a frame-mounted optic without piecing one together, or a collector after the wilder end of the X-Five catalog, this is the version that gets remembered.
