An engraved Mauser Parabellum P08 chambered in .30 Luger, built as a presentation piece for the IWA OutdoorClassics exhibition. It features traditional Central European scrollwork, fire-blued controls, and checkered walnut grips, complete with its fitted factory case.
Mauser built this Parabellum to be looked at. It started life as a standard Oberndorf-production Luger in .30 Luger, then went under the graver to become a presentation piece shown at IWA OutdoorClassics in Germany, the continent's biggest firearms and sporting trade show. Guns that go on display there are not pulled off a shelf. They are chosen to show what a maker can do at its best, and this one wears that intent across nearly every surface.
The engraving is traditional Central European scroll. Fine vinework flows along the toggle, the receiver, the barrel, and the frame, framed by dotted geometric borders that follow the Luger's hard angles. It's line work rather than deep relief, which keeps the pistol's architecture readable. You can still see every panel and contour, just dressed in scroll. The Mauser banner sits proud inside an oval on the side rail, and the toggle carries matching coverage right up to the knurled cocking knobs.
The contrast is what carries it. Metalwork is finished in a soft satin polish, almost a brushed pewter tone, while the trigger, safety lever, takedown lever, ejector, and grip screws run a deep fire blue. That blue against the muted silver gives the scroll its depth. The grips are checkered walnut with a warm reddish hue, sharp diamonds still standing tall. The barrel is marked .30 Luger, and the lower frame carries the MAUSER-WERKE A.G. Oberndorf a.N address.
The set is complete and documented. It comes in its fitted walnut case with the factory takedown tool, loading tool, cleaning rod, magazine, and case key, plus the Mauser Parabellum manual and a signed test target from G. Haslberger dated 10/07. For a Luger collector who wants the platform at its most decorative, with paper to back the story, this is the kind of piece you build a case around rather than fill a gap with.
