A factory-engraved Mauser Parabellum built to commemorate the 1983 IWA exhibition, chambered in 7.65mm (.30 Luger). Comes with its fitted Mauser presentation case, cleaning rod, literature, and original factory test target.
The toggle says JWA '83, and that one detail tells you exactly what you're holding. This is a Mauser-Werke Oberndorf Parabellum built to mark the 1983 IWA exhibition in Germany, dressed at the factory by an engraver who clearly enjoyed the assignment. The work runs deep across nearly every surface, and the pistol still reads as a Luger first and a presentation piece second. That balance is harder to pull off than it sounds.
Look closely and the engraving rewards you. Flowing scrollwork wraps the toggle, the receiver, the barrel, and the small parts, broken up by framed rosette panels on the side rails and fine line accents on the trigger guard and grip strap. The barrel carries a 30 Luger marking worked into the scroll, the toggle is signed Original Mauser, and the frame is stamped Mauser-Werke Oberndorf GMBH along the backstrap with Made in Germany at the rear. Everything is finished in a satin silver that lets the cut lines stand out without shouting.
The grips are smooth ivory-tone panels with a polished medallion set into each side. They suit the gun. Against the matte steel and the warm phosphor-bronze controls, the pale grips give the whole thing a distinctly formal look. The toggle knobs wear that classic deep-cut knurling, and the action runs the way a well-fitted Parabellum should.
Chambered in 7.65mm, the .30 Luger round the platform was born with. And the package is complete. It comes in the burgundy velvet Mauser presentation case with the original cleaning rod, the factory Parabellum manual, and the original Mauser Anschuss-Scheibe test target showing a three-shot group at 25 meters. For a Luger collector who wants the late Oberndorf craftsmanship rather than a wartime service piece, this one sits in its own category.
