Wilson Combat SFT9 Lightrail Reverse Two-Tone

Wilson Combat built its name on 1911s, but the SFT9 shows what happens when that same obsession with fit and finish is applied to a modern double-stack nine. Most guns in this class use a separate polymer grip module bolted into an aluminum frame insert. Wilson Combat skips that entirely and starts the SFT9 from a solid block of T6-7075 aluminum, machining it down to a single one-piece frame with no seams and no play between parts. The result measures a slim 1.155 inches at its widest point, which makes a real difference in how the gun sits under a cover garment.

This particular example wears reverse two-tone, a polished stainless slide over a black Armor-Tuff frame, and it's been ordered with the Lightrail option and an ambidextrous thumb safety, a welcome addition for lefties or anyone who trains both hands. The Commander-length slide and 4.25 inch match-grade bushing barrel are machined in-house at Wilson's Berryville, Arkansas shop and hand-fit for accuracy the company backs with a 1.5 inch group guarantee at 25 yards.

The small details are where this gun separates itself from a garden-variety 1911 clone. You get 30 LPI serrations on the slide top, a more aggressive 40 LPI treatment at the rear, a fluted chamber, and the TRAK texture worked directly into the front and backstrap to help keep the gun planted during rapid strings of fire. The thumb safety, hammer, and magazine release are all Wilson's own hardened Bullet Proof parts rather than stock castings.

At under 30 ounces empty and with 15-round magazines, the SFT9 splits the difference between a full-size duty pistol and something you'd actually carry every day.
