The Ruger Custom Shop Super GP100 takes the tried-and-true GP100 platform and dresses it up for serious competition work. Built on the same frame and lockwork as the Super Redhawk, this eight-shot .357 Magnum revolver gives wheelgun shooters the extra capacity and speed that USPSA, Steel Challenge, and ICORE competitors want, without giving up the reliability Ruger built its name on.

Every Super GP100 leaves the Custom Shop with polished and tuned internals. A centering boss on the trigger and shims on the hammer smooth out the double-action pull, and the two-spring lockwork borrowed from the Super Redhawk keeps ignition consistent shot after shot. The cylinder is cut for moon clips, so reloads come fast, though it still runs fine without them if you would rather load the old-fashioned way.

Finish matters here too. The stainless steel frame, barrel, and cylinder wear a PVD coating that reduces glare on the range and withstands hard use. Look closely, and you will see the fluted, extensively cut cylinder, a half-lug barrel shroud with deep scallops for fast manual ejection, and an 11-degree target crown on the muzzle. The Hogue hardwood grip is hand-finished and fits the hand well. Since it uses the standard GP100 grip frame, there are plenty of aftermarket options if you want to swap it later.
