Race City Defense builds its guns in Mooresville, North Carolina, a town racers and shooters alike call Race City USA. That motorsports mindset shows up in the machine work. The Core is RCD's entry point into the 2011 platform, the double-stack evolution of John Browning's 1911 that traces back to STI and Infinity's competition guns of the 1990s and now anchors the premium race-gun market alongside names like Staccato and Atlas.

Where RCD's flagship RC9 gets hand-fitted internals, the Core is machine-finished, and that's the point of this model. RCD still cuts the tri-top slide from bar stock in-house rather than starting from a cast blank, so tolerances stay tight even at the lower price point.

Up front sits an Atlas Gunworks bull barrel behind a 4.6-inch slide, paired with a trigger tuned to break around 3 pounds. Front and rear serrations make press checks and administrative racking easy, and the flat-top cut is machined to accept an RMR or SRO footprint optic directly, with the mounting plate included in the box rather than sold separately.

The grips are RCD's own aluminum Core panels, aggressively textured for grip under recoil, paired with an integral aluminum magwell that funnels magazines home fast. Everything wears a DLC black finish, a coating that is harder and slicker than standard nitride and holds up well under high round counts. This example ships with one Atlas Gunworks 126mm magazine, which locks back at 17 rounds, plus RCD's Savior range slip for transport.
