Nighthawk Custom Chairman 2011

Look at the muzzle end and you'll understand the Chairman in about two seconds. A gold TiN match barrel glows through the long ported slide and the open ejection port, the one warm note against an otherwise all-black build. It's Nighthawk's flagship double-stack 2011, and the barrel marking confirms what the paperwork says: this one left Berryville in 9mm, not the .45 the model is sometimes shown in.

The slide stretches out over a six inch bull barrel, and the gunsmith cut a row of lightening ports along the bottom edge so the gold flashes through with every angle change. Front and rear cocking serrations are machined crisp, and the top of the slide carries fine ribbing to kill glare. Nighthawk Custom runs the length of the slide flat, and the company hawk sits on the forward face. The whole thing wears a deep matte black finish that the QC sheet calls out as meeting cosmetic standard.

The grip is where this build earns its keep. It's an aggressive golf-ball dimple texture cut directly into the frame and grip module, wrapping the front strap, the sides, and the mainspring housing in one continuous pattern. The hawk medallion is recessed into each side. Up top you get a fully adjustable rear sight and a pinned front, a flat trigger, an extended ambidextrous thumb safety, and a high-cut beavertail with memory bump.

What ships with it tells the real story. This Chairman comes with its Nighthawk pouch, the owner's manual, the bore wrench, and both the signed factory test target and the quality control checklist.
