The Monolith is Les Baer's most visually distinct 1911, built around a patented frame design that extends the dust cover the full length of the slide, giving the pistol a blocky, one-piece look that no other 1911 quite matches. That extended dust cover isn't just cosmetic. It adds real weight to the front of the gun, which helps reduce muzzle flip in exactly the disciplines the Monolith is aimed at: USPSA Limited Class and centerfire bullseye competition, where a heavier front end pays off in faster recovery between shots. Les Baer builds the Monolith on the same National Match steel standards as the rest of its catalog, with a hand-fitted slide and frame, a stainless-bushed match barrel, and the same 3 inch group guarantee at 50 yards that backs every Baer pistol. Standard features include a double-serrated slide, low-mount adjustable rear sight with a hidden leaf, dovetail front sight, checkered front strap, and a speed trigger breaking in the 4 to 4.5 pound range. Chambering options mirror the rest of the Baer lineup, most commonly .45 ACP, with the same 5 inch barrel standard and two premium magazines included.
