A true high-capacity 1911 from Les Baer Custom, chambered in 9mm with a 19-round double-stack magazine. Built on a special composite hi-cap frame with Baer's match-grade slide, barrel, and internals, and fitted with a slide-mounted red dot optic.
Most double-stack 1911s feel like a compromise. Wider grip, mushy trigger, a top end that shoots nothing like the steel gun you fell in love with. Les Baer's Hi-Cap skips all of that. The slide, barrel, and every internal part come straight off the same line Baer uses to build his single-stack Premier and Monolith pistols, and his own team of gunsmiths fits and assembles each one by hand. You get true 1911 lockup, a crisp match-grade trigger, and the tight tolerances Baer has been known for since his days blueprinting engines and machining drag car parts.
What sets this pistol apart is the frame. Baer builds it from a special composite material rather than forged steel, wide enough to feed a 19-round 9mm magazine but shaped to fill the hand without feeling like a brick. The frame runs full length and flat on the bottom, the same treatment Baer uses on his Monolith guns, and the grip panels are cut deep enough to lock your hand in place under recoil.
This example comes optic-ready, with a mini red dot mounted directly to the slide and a rear sight set back far enough to keep a clean sight picture whether you run the dot or look past it. The extended beavertail, skeletonized hammer, and thumb safety are standard Baer fare, and the fit between slide and frame is the same hand-lapped fit you would expect on any pistol wearing the Baer Custom name.
Baer only rolled the Hi-Cap out recently, built for shooters who want a 1911 that holds more rounds without giving up the trigger, the accuracy, or the feel that made the platform famous in the first place. It is not a parts-bin double-stack gun with a Baer top end bolted on. It is a Baer, built the way Baer builds everything, just wider.
