A German-built Janz EMS modular revolver set convertible between .44 Magnum and .357 Magnum. Includes matched barrels, cylinders, factory conversion tooling, and signed test targets in a fitted aluminum case.
Most revolvers ask you to pick a caliber and live with it. The Janz EMS does not. This is a German modular system built around a single frame, and the case in front of you holds everything needed to run it as either a .44 Magnum or a .357 Magnum. Pull the front latch, lift the barrel free, swap the cylinder, and the whole gun changes character. Janz machines each component to tolerances that would look at home in a watchmaker's shop, and the lockup proves it.
The finish is a matte silver across the frame, barrels, and cylinders, with gold-toned accents that run through the hammer, trigger, ejector rod, muzzle crowns, and the small pins set into the frame. It reads as deliberate rather than flashy. The barrels wear cursive Janz script alongside their caliber, .44 Magnum on one, .357 Magnum on the other, and both crowns are capped in brass-colored metal. The grips are a deeply figured walnut target style, hand-filling and shaped for double-action work.
Worth noting: the frame carries an adjustable rear sight, a switchable trigger-action selector marked R and L behind the cylinder, and the Janz Malente address stamped on the right side under the cylinder window. Each cylinder is fitted with its own ejector and machined for its respective cartridge.
The set arrives complete in its fitted aluminum case. Inside you get the .44 frame already assembled, the spare .357 barrel and cylinder, the full complement of Janz conversion tooling, and the factory test targets dated and signed from Malente. Those targets show what this system does on paper, two tight groups punched near the center.
For a collector chasing the high end of European revolver craft, this is the format to own. One frame, two magnums, and a toolkit that lets you move between them at the bench.
