A German-built Janz EMS JTL modular revolver in .44 Magnum with a ported 6-inch barrel. Finished in matte black with a sculpted walnut target grip and complete with its factory case, manual, and tools.
Most revolvers come off a production line. This one came out of a small shop in Malente, where Janz builds revolvers the way few makers ever have. The EMS JTL is a modular system, designed so that barrel, cylinder, and caliber components can be swapped within a single frame. That's the engineering story collectors chase. But the thing that stops you here is the build quality you can see with your own eyes.
The 6-inch barrel wears a heavy underlug and a flat, angular profile cut with the porting holes Janz uses to tame muzzle rise. The script Janz signature and .44 Magnum caliber marking are engraved along the barrel flat, and the right side of the frame carries the full Janz Praz. Feinmechanik, Malente/Holst, Made in Germany address. The deep matte black finish runs across barrel, frame, and cylinder, broken by polished stainless at the muzzle crown and ejector rod. The micro-adjustable target rear sight is German made, paired with an interchangeable front blade.
The walnut grip fills the hand with palm swells on both sides and the Janz triangle medallion inlaid at the top. It's an anatomical target grip, sculpted rather than checkered, and it carries the weight of that long barrel without fighting you. The trigger sits wide and smooth inside a generous guard. Up top, the cylinder release and the adjustable trigger features show the level of fitting that separates this from a factory wheelgun.
It comes in the fitted Janz aluminum case with blue velvet lining, the German operating manual covering the full caliber range from .22 LR to .454 Casull, and the gold-bodied Janz takedown tool. For a collector who wants a revolver built to a standard almost no one else attempts, this is the platform that earns the reputation. Few make it to the U.S. market, and fewer still arrive this complete.
