A DWM 1920 Luger chambered in 7.65mm fitted with the patented Benke-Thiemann folding shoulder stock. Includes a fitted leather holster shaped for the stocked configuration.
Most Lugers sit flat in a collection. This one unfolds. The Benke-Thiemann folding stock is the whole story here, a stamped-steel skeleton frame that wraps around a standard DWM 1920 Luger and turns it into a shoulder-fired carbine in seconds. Fold it forward and you have a pistol. Swing the articulated arms back and the gun locks into a full stock with a wrapped pistol grip and a rigid shoulder rest. The mechanism latches firmly in both positions, and after a century it still snaps home with authority.
The left rail of the stock carries the marking PATENT BENKE / THIEMANN D.R.P.u.A.P., which ties the piece directly to the patent holders and the era when German engineers were rethinking how a sidearm could reach out past pistol range. Very few of these were ever made. The folding stock alone places this far outside the usual Luger conversation.
The pistol is a 7.65mm chambered DWM, the .30 Luger round, wearing the toggle-link action that made the design famous. The toggle knobs show their original deep checkering. The DWM scroll sits on the front toggle link, and a Crown N proof reads clearly on the receiver. The bore is bright. Up front you get the fin-style front sight, a detail you do not see on the more common variations.
Condition splits cleanly between the two halves. The Luger itself retains strong blue across the slide and receiver, with brilliant straw still showing on several small parts and clean internals. The stock frame wears an honest patina, the kind of brown-grey surface tone you expect from a tool that was actually carried and used. High points show natural wear.
It comes with a fitted leather holster shaped to carry the gun and folded stock together. For the Luger collector who already owns the standard models, this is the piece that does something none of the others can.
