The Vali makes Viking Firearms' present design language unusually easy to read. It is a 9mm, single-action, double-stack 1911-pattern pistol built around a 5-inch bull barrel and the company's proprietary-named "Gerr" port arrangement, with three central ports and two lateral ports described by the maker as "nostril" ports. The slide and frame are 17-4 stainless steel, finished in black DLC with polished flats, while the grip is aluminum. Viking states that this port geometry reduces muzzle movement without imparting the slower-cycling character the company associates with larger compensators or more extensive porting. That performance assessment is a manufacturer claim, not an independently established result.

The corporate history is much shorter, and less fully documented, than the product language suggests. Missouri's official business registry records VIKING FIREARMS, LLC as an active domestic limited liability company formed on 30 July 2024. The same record identifies Jacob Olmstead as registered agent and gives the Nixa address now used by the company. It does not identify Olmstead as founder, designer, owner, or manager. No reliable public source reviewed for this profile names a founder or explains the commercial or technical circumstances in which the business was established.

Viking describes its work as individual, hand-fitted production rather than mass manufacture. Its published account emphasizes slide-to-frame fit, tuned triggers, barrel work, and finishing in the 1911 pattern, while also noting contemporary machining and performance-oriented changes. These statements establish the company's stated workshop philosophy, but they remain self-descriptions. Publicly accessible factory documentation located during this research does not disclose production volume, inspection standards, machining tolerances, or accuracy testing.

The current documented catalog consists of the Vali and Valknut. Both are 9mm, single-action pistols with 5-inch bull barrels, 17-4 stainless-steel slides and frames, aluminum double-stack grips, and versions of Viking's Gerr porting. The Valknut changes the port count to four central ports plus two lateral ports, and adds copper PVD to the barrel, several controls, and small parts. A current federal-license directory identifies the Nixa concern as a Type 07 manufacturer of firearms other than destructive devices, with the listed license expiring on 1 November 2027. For collectors, the material point is that Viking is an early-stage maker whose named production catalog can be documented, but whose authorship, production history, and model chronology cannot yet be reconstructed from dependable public records.
