The Pit Viper is Taran Tactical Innovations' answer to a simple question: what if a race gun never had to compromise? Built on the double-stack 2011 platform, this pistol takes the 1911's crisp single-action trigger, doubles the magazine capacity, and layers in years of competition know-how from world champion shooter Taran Butler. The result is a gun designed for one job: keeping your sights on target while you shoot as fast as you can pull the trigger.

What sets the Pit Viper apart from an ordinary 2011 is the sight-block compensator. Instead of riding the slide, the front sight locks to the stationary barrel assembly, so it never moves during recoil. Pair that with the single-port compensator and the LiteSpeed fire control system, and you get a pistol that tracks flatter and cycles faster than almost anything else on the market. Taran Butler proved the concept himself, taking this platform to the overall win at the first USPSA 2-Gun Nationals in 2021, before it ever had a Hollywood spotlight.

Every part of this example backs up the reputation. The frame and slide are CNC-machined from billet steel and finished in black DLC, a coating that resists wear far better than standard nitride or Cerakote. The barrel and trigger wear a contrasting bronze finish that gives the gun its signature look. Up top sits a Trijicon SRO, mounted low and ready to run, backed by a Parker Mountain Machine adjustable rear sight and a fiber optic front post.
