The Staccato HD C4X is a compensated compact carry pistol chambered in 9mm. It has a 4-inch barrel with an integrated compensator and weighs 24.5 ounces.
Staccato used to be called STI, the company behind the original 2011. In 2020 it took the name of the pistol line it had launched the year before, with the same owners and staff. The HD line is an entirely new family of pistols designed with feedback from professional end users. The HD C4X is a compensated version of the compact HD carry pistol.
This is the base configuration. The key feature is a 4-inch barrel with an integrated compensator, finished in DLC. The comp gives a noticeable reduction in muzzle flip, which means faster follow-up shots from a small gun. Under the barrel is a 3.6-inch fully captive flat wire recoil system.
The frame is 7075 aluminum machined from billet, and the grip is compact aluminum with aggressive front and back straps. It weighs only 24.5 ounces without a magazine, which is light for a compensated pistol. The dimensions stay carry friendly at 7.6 inches long and 4.84 inches tall, with a 1.2-inch grip.
Capacity is 15+1, and Staccato includes two 15-round steel Glock-pattern magazines. The base package uses an Ameriglo blacked-out front sight. The trigger breaks at 4 to 4.5 pounds with a crisp, clean feel.
The C4X sits at the top of Staccato's concealed carry lineup. It's the most expensive of the compact HD pistols, and it earns that place with the integrated comp.
