Staccato used to be called STI, the company behind the original 2011. In 2020 it took the name of the pistol line it had launched the year before, with the same owners and staff. The CS is the smallest and lightest pistol in the Staccato line, and it's built for deep concealment.
This is the base configuration. It's a single-action 9mm with a 3.5-inch threaded stainless bull barrel. The barrel is fluted, which helps shed heat. Underneath sits a tool-less, fully captured Dawson Precision recoil system that's patent pending.
The frame is 7075 aluminum machined from billet, and the pistol weighs about 23 ounces without an optic or magazine. It's 7.1 inches long and 5.4 inches tall, with a grip just 1.2 inches wide. The grip uses a two-piece polymer design, and it's shaped to fit a wide range of hand sizes.
Capacity is 15+1, and two 15-round magazines ship with the pistol. Dawson Precision also supplies the sights. The trigger breaks crisply and cleanly at 4 to 4.5 pounds, and the pistol uses an external extractor.
Staccato adds free optic mounting and a lifetime warranty, which is a nice touch if you plan to run a red dot. The CS gives you a 2011 trigger and a real 15-round magazine in a package that's small enough for everyday carry.
