The Springfield Armory 1911 10-8 Performance Master Class is a full-size duty 1911, here in 9mm. It was developed with 10-8 Performance founder Hilton Yam.
Springfield Armory announced the 1911 10-8 Performance Master Class in January 2026. It was developed with Hilton Yam, founder of 10-8 Performance and a retired FBI Special Agent. Yam served more than 20 years in the Miami Field Office, including 19 on its SWAT team and time as its principal firearms instructor.
That background shows in the pistol's design, which is aimed squarely at duty use. This is the 9mm AOS model. It's a full-size 1911 with a forged carbon steel frame and slide, and a 5-inch forged stainless bull barrel with a black DLC finish. Springfield builds it in Geneseo, Illinois.
The details come from 10-8 Performance. There's a reverse recoil spring plug for tool-free takedown, an extended serrated magazine catch, a bar-stock slide stop and a flat-faced aluminum trigger with a stainless overtravel stop. The slide has abbreviated 10-8 serrations, and the front strap and mainspring housing have aggressive 20 lines-per-inch checkering. VZ G10 grips carry Hilton Yam's signature.
Sights are a green fiber optic front and a black serrated U-notch rear. The slide uses Springfield's Agency Optic System, which accepts popular optic footprints.
The 9mm model weighs 42.6 ounces and measures 8.4 inches long and 5.25 inches tall. It ships with three 9-round magazines.
