The Noveske N4 Light Infidel is a discontinued 13.7-inch 5.56 NATO rifle with a pinned and welded KX3 flash suppressor that brings it to 16 inches. It pairs Noveske's Gen 4 billet receivers with lighter Magpul furniture.
Noveske Rifleworks builds AR-pattern rifles and pistols, and its N4 line uses the company's 4th Generation billet receivers. The Light Infidel was a lighter version of Noveske's Infidel rifle, sold under Noveske part number 02000789. It's now discontinued, and it differs from the N4 Infidel that Noveske sells today.
It's chambered in 5.56 NATO with a 13.7-inch cold hammer forged, chrome-lined barrel and a 1-in-7 twist. A KX3 flash suppressor is pinned and welded to the barrel to bring it to the legal 16-inch length, so it's a standard rifle with no NFA paperwork. A low-profile .750 gas block is pinned in place.
The upper and lower are Noveske's Gen 4 billet receivers, machined from 7075-T6 aluminum, hardcoat anodized and finished in Armor Black Cerakote. The controls are ambidextrous, and the charging handle is a Noveske-marked Geissele Super charging handle. The handguard is Noveske's NSR-15 M-LOK rail, which runs well past the short barrel.
This is where the Light Infidel parts ways with the current model. Instead of B5 furniture, it wears a Magpul SL stock and a Magpul MOE K2 grip, and Magpul MBUS Pro sights are fitted.
It weighs about 6 pounds 14.6 ounces, a little lighter than the current Infidel, and one 30-round magazine was included when new.
If you want a compact, light Noveske that still counts as a rifle, the Light Infidel is a smart find. The short barrel and pinned KX3 keep the overall length down, the long rail gives you plenty of room for a light and a grip, and the Magpul furniture keeps the weight in check.
