The MasterPiece Arms DS9-TC Hybrid is a compensated double-stack 1911 chambered in 9mm. It has a steel frame with a full-length dust cover and a 7075 aluminum grip.
MasterPiece Arms, known as MPA, builds its DS9 Hybrid as a wide-body, double-stack 1911, and the DS9-TC Hybrid is the Tactical Comp version. Each one is hand built and tuned, and it's meant to shoot flat for competition or duty use.
This is the base configuration in 9mm. The barrel is a 4.6-inch threaded 416R stainless steel barrel, and it wears a single-port compensator machined from 303 stainless steel. That's the TC in the name, and it's there to hold the muzzle down between shots.
The frame is steel with a full-length dust cover and a light rail, which adds weight up front and gives you a place for a weapon light. The grip is MPA-machined 7075 aluminum, and MPA offers several textures and colors. The finish is black nitride.
The trigger is light, with a 2.5-pound pull, and you can choose a short, medium or long shoe. MPA also lets you pick iron sights or an optics-ready slide cut for Vortex, Trijicon, Leupold or C-More footprints.
It's 8.9 inches long and weighs about 41 to 42 ounces without a magazine. MPA includes two magazines, one 126mm and one 141mm, and backs the pistol with a lifetime warranty.
