The MasterPiece Arms DS9 Hybrid IDPA V2 is a compensated double-stack 1911 chambered in 9mm. It's built to meet IDPA Carry Optics and ESP division rules.
MasterPiece Arms, known as MPA, designed the DS9 Hybrid IDPA V2 for IDPA competitors who want a flat, fast and accurate pistol. It meets the requirements for both IDPA's Carry Optics and Enhanced Service Pistol divisions, so one gun can cover either.
This is the base configuration in 9mm. It uses a 4.6-inch threaded barrel with a single-port compensator made from grade 5 titanium. The frame is billet steel with a light rail, and the slide and frame wear a black nitride finish. MPA offers the comp in matte or polished silver.
The grip is MPA-machined 7075 aluminum with an aggressive texture, available in several colors. The trigger is a 2-pound match trigger with a choice of short, medium or long shoe.
Weight is carefully managed for the rulebook. The ESP setup weighs about 42.5 to 43 ounces, under the 43-ounce limit, and the Carry Optics setup at about 44.2 to 44.5 ounces, under the 45-ounce limit. You can choose iron sights or an optics-ready slide for popular footprints, including SIG's Romeo 3XL and Max.
MPA includes three 126mm magazines with IDPA base pads. The pistol is hand lapped and machined in the United States. Build time runs about 22 to 24 weeks.
