Korth PRS 5" .45 ACP

Look closely at the muzzle end and you'll see what makes this PRS different from any other 1911 you've handled. That's Korth's integrated barrel weight system, a machined block that clamps over the front of the slide and dust cover to settle the gun down under recoil. It's the centerpiece of the platform, and on this 5 inch .45 ACP it does exactly what the competition crowd wants. The pistol tracks flat and comes back to the same spot every time.

The machining is where Korth separates itself. The slide wears hemispherical dimple texturing front and rear instead of the usual aggressive cocking serrations, a pattern that carries through to the grips. Those grips deserve a second look. They're aluminum panels with the same dimpled field, sitting over a finely stippled frontstrap and mainspring housing that lock the gun into your hand. The frame is finished in a deep black, while the grips show a darker blued tone that gives the whole thing a layered, two-tone look in the light.

Up top you get a fully adjustable LPA rear sight paired with a serrated front blade, so you can dial elevation and windage for whatever load you shoot. The trigger is a skeletonized three-hole unit with a polished face, breaking clean against an extended beavertail and a Commander-style hammer. The slide carries the Korth name and the Waffenfabrik Korth Germany roll mark, with .45 Auto stamped at the ejection port.

This one comes cased with both German and English manuals, the safety documentation, the barrel weight removal tool, and the takedown wrench. Pull the weight off and you have a clean 5 inch competition gun. Leave it on and you have one of the flattest-shooting .45s built in Europe. For a collector who wants a 1911 that nobody else at the range will have, this is the one to chase.
