Korth Classic 6" Bronze

Most Korth Classics come dressed in deep blue or bright stainless. This one wears bronze, and that alone pulls it out of the crowd. The frame and barrel carry a warm brown PVD treatment that reads somewhere between satin and high polish depending on how the light hits it, a tone you almost never see on a German revolver of this caliber. Against that bronze, the gold controls do their work. The trigger, hammer spur, cylinder release, ejector rod, and the pin and screw heads all wear a gold finish that frames the design without shouting over it.

The gun is built on Korth's Classic platform out of Waffenfabrik in Germany, chambered in .357 Magnum and wearing a 6 inch barrel with a vented rib and full underlug. That underlug puts weight up front, which is exactly what you want when you touch off a full Magnum load. The cylinder shows the deep flutes and tight lockup that define the marque, finished to match the bronze of the frame. Korth fits these by hand, and you feel it in the way everything indexes.

The grip is the other thing that stops you. It's a target style panel of richly figured walnut, contoured to fill the hand and finished to show off the grain. The Korth logo medallion sits gold against the frame, and the right panel carries the Korth name alongside a Jim Wilson signature marking. Wilson, the longtime gun writer and Texas lawman, lends this configuration its name.

The revolver comes in its fitted wood presentation case with gray foam, packed alongside the factory tools and accessories. The frame is marked Korth Germany Waffenfabrik on the right side. For a collector who already has the standard finishes covered, the bronze is the piece that finishes the shelf.
