HK MR762 A4 Pistol

The MR762 is Heckler & Koch's commercial version of the HK417, and this is the pistol configuration with a 13-inch barrel. The A4 series is HK's latest update to the commercial versions of the HK416 and HK417. The A4 adds fully ambidextrous controls, lighter weight and a slimmer profile, along with an adjustable gas regulator so you can tune the rifle for suppressed or unsuppressed shooting.

It's chambered in 7.62x51mm and uses HK's short-stroke gas piston system, which keeps hot carbon fouling out of the action. The barrel has four lands and grooves with a 1-in-11-inch right-hand twist.

The shorter barrel makes this a compact 7.62mm package. It measures 31.4 inches long and weighs 7.95 pounds without a magazine. A 23-inch Picatinny rail runs along the top, so there's plenty of room for an optic, a night vision device or a clip-on.

The adjustable gas regulator is especially useful on a short barrel, and even more so if you plan to run a suppressor. Being able to tune the gas helps keep the pistol from cycling too violently, which is easier on both the gun and the shooter.

HK offers it with a 20-round magazine, or a 10-round magazine where required.
