A Korth PRS 4 Inch chambered in 9mm with a Gold DLC finish and signature dimpled slide texturing. Handmade in Germany and supplied in a fitted wooden presentation case.
Most 1911-pattern pistols borrow their look from Hartford. This one borrows nothing. The Korth PRS is built in Ratzeburg, and the 4 inch version chambered in 9mm wears a Gold DLC coating that reads less like jewelry and more like intent. The tone is even and matte rather than mirror-bright, which lets the geometry do the talking.
Look closely at the slide and you'll see the texture that sets the PRS apart. Instead of conventional cocking serrations, Korth machined a field of raised dimples front and rear, the same pattern carried onto the front strap and mainspring housing. It's grippy in the hand and unlike anything coming out of a production shop. The slide carries the Korth name on both flats, the barrel is marked 9mm Luger through the ejection port, and the dust cover reads Waffenfabrik Korth Germany. CIP proof marks sit on the slide and barrel hood.
The controls run in contrasting black. Extended thumb safety, beavertail grip safety, slide stop, and the slim three-hole trigger all stand out against the gold. The hammer is skeletonized, the magazine well is beveled, and the front of the slide is cut with relief flats that lighten the profile. Warm walnut grip panels with figured grain break up the metal and give the hand something familiar to hold.
The gun ships in its fitted Korth wooden presentation case with a spare magazine and the factory certification tag. That tag matters. It records the gunsmith who built the pistol and the inspector who signed it off, which is how Korth documents every gun that leaves the shop. For a collector who already owns the usual suspects and wants something built one at a time in Germany, this is a different animal entirely.
