The Geissele Super Duty MOD1 is a 16-inch 5.56mm AR-15 rifle with a cold hammer-forged barrel and MK16 rail. It comes with Geissele's SSA-E X two-stage trigger.
Geissele's Super Duty rifles are complete AR-15s built mostly from Geissele's own parts. That means you get the company's SSA-E X trigger, its Airborne Charging Handle and its MK16 rail on one rifle, rather than a build pieced together from many brands.
Geissele offers the Super Duty MOD1 in many lengths and two colors, as rifles, short-barreled rifles and pistols. This is the most standard version: the 16-inch 5.56mm rifle in black.
The barrel is cold hammer forged and chrome lined, in Geissele's tapered profile with a 1-in-7 twist. It runs a Geissele-length gas system with a Super Compact Gas Block, and it ends in a HUXWRX QD 556 flash hider, which is ready for a compatible suppressor mount. The handguard is a 15-inch MK16 rail with Geissele's center tab.
The trigger is the two-stage SSA-E X with a Lightning Bow. Geissele fits a Forged Stressproof Bolt, which is high pressure tested and magnetic particle inspected, in a reliability enhanced carrier. The buffer system uses a Super 42 spring with an H2 buffer.
The controls include Geissele's ambidextrous Super Configurable Safety Selector, a checkered magazine release and a Maritime Bolt Catch. The stock is a B5 Systems Enhanced SOPMOD, and the grip is Geissele's A17.
The rifle measures 33.75 inches collapsed and 36.9 inches extended, and weighs about 7 pounds. The rifle ships without an optic, mount or magazine, so plan to add your own.
