Fierce Firearms builds the Grizz in Utah, and the pistol is hand-built and semi-custom, with one builder handling each gun from start to finish. The builder also test fires the pistol before it ships.
The Grizz GZ9 is a double-stack 1911 in 9mm, and it uses a 4.25-inch match-grade bull barrel, the Commander length. This is that version, in its base configuration.
The frame is nitrided 4140 steel and the slide is stainless steel, a combination that gives the pistol a solid, stable feel. The grip is billet aluminum, and Fierce offers it in colors that match the three factory finishes: black with midnight bronze accents, flat dark earth with brown grips, or sniper grey with black grips. All three are Cerakote.
The trigger is Fierce's F2 Red Dirt unit, with a pull under 3 pounds. The internals are EGW parts, and the pistol has an ambidextrous safety, a tactical magwell and a full-length guide rod.
The slide is cut for an RMR-footprint optic, and an iron sight rear plate is included if you'd rather shoot with irons for now. Capacity is 19+1 using CheckMate 19-round magazines.
