Dark Forge Reaper 5″ Double Barrel

The Dark Forge Reaper 5″ Double Barrel is a 9mm pistol built on the double-stack 1911 platform, sometimes called a 2011. Dark Forge, a small American pistol maker, sells this configuration new, pairing two 5-inch monolithic barrels with a single frame. One barrel carries a built-in compensator, and the other is a plain sight-block barrel without porting, so a shooter can run either profile from the same gun without buying a second pistol. Dark Forge lists both barrel designs as patent pending.

The slide and frame are machined from billet steel, and the grip module is machined aluminum rather than polymer, with a diamond-textured pattern cut for grip. The whole package wears a DLC black finish, and the screws, pins, and safety levers carry a bronze-toned PVD coating that stands out against the dark finish. The grip module uses a fixed, non-functional grip safety rather than the spring-loaded type found on a traditional 1911, and ambidextrous thumb safeties sit within reach of either hand. The flat-faced trigger is rated by Dark Forge at two to two and a half pounds.

The slide is cut for a direct-mount RMR or SRO footprint, so a red dot bolts straight on without an adapter plate, and the magazine well is stainless steel for faster reloads. This particular two-barrel package ships with a hard case and three magazines, and Dark Forge's own site lists it as a limited-quantity offering, separate from the single-barrel Reaper models it also sells.

This is a current production pistol rather than a vintage or documented historical one, so its appeal rests on the machining, the finish work, and the option to run two barrel configurations from a single frame, not on age or provenance.
