The Daniel Defense DD4 V7 SLW is a super lightweight 14.5-inch 5.56 NATO carbine with a pinned Dead Air flash hider. It's built on the fully ambidextrous DD4 platform.
Daniel Defense builds its rifles in Black Creek, Georgia, and it's known for cold hammer-forged barrels and well-finished AR-pattern rifles. The DD4 V7 SLW is the Super Lightweight version of its ambidextrous DD4 V7.
The weight savings start with the barrel. It's a 14.5-inch lightweight-profile barrel, cold hammer forged from chrome moly vanadium steel with a 1-in-7 twist. A Dead Air Xeno QD flash hider is pinned and welded in place, bringing the barrel to the 16-inch rifle length, and it doubles as a quick-detach mount for a Dead Air suppressor.
It runs a mid-length direct impingement gas system with a low-profile gas block. The handguard is an M-LOK flat-front rail machined from 6061-T6 aluminum. The whole rifle comes in at 6.2 pounds, light for a full-featured carbine, and measures 31.5 to 34.75 inches long.
Like every DD4, it has fully ambidextrous controls: the safety, magazine release and bolt release all work from either side. The trigger is Daniel Defense's Enhanced unit with an advanced coating, and the finish is hard coat anodized.
