The Daniel Defense DD4 V7 is a 16-inch 5.56 NATO carbine built on Daniel Defense's fully ambidextrous DD4 platform. It has a 15-inch M-LOK rail and an enhanced trigger.
Daniel Defense builds its rifles in Black Creek, Georgia, and it's known for cold hammer-forged barrels and well-finished AR-pattern rifles. The DD4 V7 takes the popular V7 carbine and builds it on the fully ambidextrous DD4 platform.
It's chambered in 5.56mm NATO with a 16-inch cold hammer-forged barrel in chrome moly vanadium steel, government profile, with a 1-in-7 twist and 1/2-28 threads. It runs a mid-length direct impingement gas system with a low-profile gas block.
The DD4 difference is in the controls. The safety selector, magazine release and bolt release are all fully ambidextrous, so the rifle works the same for left- and right-handed shooters.
The handguard is a 15-inch DD4 flat-front rail with M-LOK slots and integrated sling points. The upper and lower receivers are 7075-T6 aluminum with a hard coat anodized finish. The lower has an enhanced flared magazine well and a QD swivel point. Daniel Defense's enhanced three-piece trigger gives a crisp, consistent break.
The rifle weighs 6.4 pounds and measures 32.25 to 35.9 inches long. It uses an M16-profile bolt carrier group that's chrome lined and properly staked, and it ships in Daniel Defense's hard case. Daniel Defense includes one 32-round DD magazine.
