The Daniel Defense DD4 SPRIII is an 18-inch 5.56 NATO precision rifle built as an evolution of the MK12. It has a Geissele SSA trigger and a Magpul PRS Lite stock.
Daniel Defense builds its rifles in Black Creek, Georgia, and it's known for cold hammer-forged barrels and well-finished AR-pattern rifles. In September 2025, it introduced the DD4 SPRIII, an evolution of the MK12 special purpose rifle. The MK12 earned its reputation with a stainless barrel, a rifle-length gas system and strong accuracy for a 5.56 rifle at distance, and the SPRIII carries those ideas forward.
It's chambered in 5.56mm NATO with an 18-inch stainless steel barrel in the MK12 profile, cold hammer forged with a 1-in-7 twist and a DLC finish. The gas system is rifle length, direct impingement, with a low-profile MK12 gas block.
Daniel Defense built it with precision parts. The trigger is a Geissele Super Semi-Automatic, a two-stage unit popular with precision shooters. The stock is a Magpul PRS Lite, which adjusts for a proper cheek weld behind a scope. The handguard is a 15-inch RIII rail with an integrated ARCALOCK mount and M-LOK slots, so it pairs well with bipods and tripods.
The controls are fully ambidextrous: safety, charging handle, magazine release and bolt release. A Daniel Defense flash suppressor comes installed.
It measures 34.75 to 37.9 inches long and weighs 8.6 pounds. Daniel Defense includes a 32-round DD magazine and a hard case.
