The BG Defense TYPE-A SRP is a forged AR from the TYPE-A PRO line. It has forged 7075-T6 receivers, a two-stage trigger and ambidextrous controls.
BG Defense builds its TYPE-A rifles to order, and the line includes its own versions of well-known military carbines and rifles. Its receivers are hardcoat anodized and then Cerakoted for durability. The SRP is part of its forged PRO line, sold alongside the SP2.
BG Defense offers it in 5.56 NATO, 300 Blackout, 6mm ARC and 338 ARC, with barrels from 8 to 18 inches in 4150V, chrome-lined 4150V or 416R stainless steel. You can order it as a pistol, a rifle or a short-barreled rifle, with or without a folding stock. The gas system uses an adjustable manifold with a straight gas tube, and the muzzle is fitted with a brake ready for a suppressor mount.
The upper and lower are forged 7075-T6 aluminum, and the upper has extended feed ramps and an ambidextrous charging handle. The bolt carrier is billet 8620 steel with a chrome nitride finish, and the bolt is billet 9310 steel, MPI tested, with a titanium nitride coating.
The trigger is a TYPE-A PMC two-stage at about 3.5 pounds. You also get an ambidextrous billet safety with 90 or 70 degree throw, an extended magazine release and an extended bolt catch. Rifles wear a B5 Bravo stock and pistols an SB Tactical SBA5 brace, both with a B5 P-Grip.
Finishes start with Armor Black, with several Cerakote colors and custom colors for an added charge. A 30-round magazine and a 36-inch soft case are included, but optics and suppressors are not. Short-barreled and suppressed setups are subject to NFA rules, so check your state laws too.
